Drive belts must be changed periodically as they carry the power of the engine against the load of the combined weight of the scooter and rider. The usual change interval for the Quasar engine is 15’000 – 20,000kms, but it should be checked for wear and cracking periodically at 5,000km service intervals in between as belt breakage can cause further transmission damage.
